ER COLLETS

ER Collets achieve greater grip strength and higher precision than do double angle collets.
To use, first insert the collet into the chuck nut by squeezing the collet and pressing its face into the chuck nut collar ring until the collet collar is fully seated. Then load the collet into the chuck, insert a cutting tool and tighten with the appropriate nut wrench.
For collet removal, simply squeeze the collet while pulling it from the chuck nut at an angle.
Chucks are equipped with a left-handed-threaded stop screw and a chuck nut.
• Tolerance: Guaranteed to be 0.0002" at the collets' nose.
• Accuracy: ER collets are the most accurate collets available.

75 & 100 TG Collets – Precise!

TG collets are precisely machined to exacting
standards. They are a good choice for high speed/high precision milling and drilling operations.
  • Tolerance: Guaranteed to be within 0.0003" at the collets’ nose.
  • Accuracy: 3/8" and larger collets are
    guaranteed accurate to within 0.0005" at 4" out from the nose. Collets smaller than 3/8" are guaranteed accurate to within 0.0005" at a distance equal to 4 times the collet I.D. (For example, a 1/4" collet is guaranteed to be within 0.0005" at 1" out from its nose.)

150 TG Collets – Precise!

150 TG collets are precisely machined to exacting standards. They are a good choice for high speed/high precision milling and drilling operations.

  • Tolerance: Guaranteed to be within 0.0003" at the collet nose.
  • Accuracy: Guaranteed accurate to within 0.0005" at 4" out from
    the nose.

AF Collets
AF collets collapse approximately 1/64"
AF collets are precisely machined to exacting standards. They are a good choice for high speed/high precision milling and drilling operations.

  • Tolerance: Guaranteed to be within 0.0003" at the collets’ nose.
  • Accuracy: 3/8" and larger collets are guaranteed accurate to within 0.0005" at 4" out fro their noses. Collets smaller than 3/8" are guaranteed accurate to within 0.0005" at a distance equal to 4 times the collet I.D.

DA Collets
DA collets collapse approximately 1/64"
DA collets are precisely machined to exacting standards. They are a good choice for drilling and reaming operations.

  • Tolerance: Guaranteed to be within 0.0003" at the collets’ nose.
  • DA collets are the best choice for confined areas where a small diameter collet is required.

R8 & 5C Collets

R8 & 5C collets are manufactured to exacting standards. They are a good choice for milling, drilling and reaming, secondary grinding operations and tool sharpening.

  • Tolerance: Guaranteed to be within 0.0002" at the collets’ nose.
  • R8 & 5C collets are widely used in machining and work in holding devices and fixtures.

Method of Use for Collet Systems

Inserting:
1. Insert collet into nut at angle as shown to engage extraction tongue in groove of collet.
2. Screw nut onto collet holder with
collet securely in nut.
3. Insert tool to be gripped and lock nut.
IMPORTANT: Never screw nut onto collet holder unless collet is properly seated in nut.
Releasing:
Hold nut in vertical position and remove collet at an angle. Collet is automatically withdrawn from chuck when nut is unscrewed.
